About The Grand

The Grand Theater opened its doors in February 1925 and quickly became a central Kentucky landmark. With the completion of a $4.2 million restoration that was almost 12 years in the making, the Grand Theater is again hosting outstanding entertainment for citizens of the region. After being closed for almost 50 years, it’s one of Central Kentucky’s favorite performing arts centers.

In additional to plays, concerts, movies, showcases, and workshops The Lancaster Grand Theater aims to always have it's doors open to residents both local and afar while making sure that the community always feels warm and welcome coming to The Grand. The Grand Theater, now partnered with The Kentucky Motion Picture & Television Hall of Fame aims to preserve the past by honoring those individuals that have make significant contributions to the Motion Picture and Television industries while also keeping the Bluegrass Spirit alive and representing the State of Kentucky in a positive light.
